Facilitating Conversations: Exploring Communication Aids for Parkinson's

Discover how augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools can enhance communication and independence for individuals with Parkinson’s and their families. This session will explore the basics of AAC, its benefits for managing various communication challenges, and practical strategies to support meaningful conversations as speech becomes impacted by Parkinson’s progression.

This annual event takes place every February, and reaches about 2,000 – 3,000 people with Parkinson’s disease and their family members across the country. The APDA VPC is a great blend of education and interactive activities.
