Empowered Communication with AAC: Navigating Social Settings with AAC

***
You do not have to be an AAC user to attend this group. Caregivers welcome!***

Join us for December’s session of the Empowered Communication with AAC Series as we explore strategies for using AAC to build confidence and independence in social settings. Struggling with a low voice or hard-to-understand speech? We will share practical AAC tips and techniques for navigating conversations in public places, such as family gatherings, community events, restaurants, and more. Attendees will learn how to use AAC to engage comfortably in social interactions, with a focus on maintaining meaningful connections in new or busy environments.

Sessions are hosted through The Lingraphica Community - A place for individuals with various communication challenges and their care partners to connect, share, and offer support. The Lingraphica Community consists of multiple, diagnosis-specific online communities. Each individual community has a separate membership base, live online meetup sessions, and engagement opportunities.

The goal of The Lingraphica Community for Parkinson’s is to provide community, connection, and education to people with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners around the world through virtual conversation groups and support groups.

Sessions focus on conversation, social connection, and quality of life. The sessions are a great place to meet others on the Parkinson’s journey, practice communication skills, and learn more about the disease.

Speech pathologists host sessions; however, they do not provide speech therapy. Session topics include navigating life with PD, sharing experiences, caregiver support, message banking, and more! We know you’ll find something you love.
