Exploring Holiday Traditions Around the World

This support group is for people with aphasia. Celebrate the season by discovering holiday traditions from different cultures! This session will focus on sharing personal traditions and learning new ones while practicing communication strategies in a fun and supportive environment. We’ll provide visual aids and conversation starters to make participation easier for everyone. The holiday season can bring opportunities to connect with friends and family, but it can also present challenges for communication. In this session, we’ll explore tips and tools to help you join conversations, share holiday memories, and express your wishes with confidence. Participants will learn simple strategies, practice holiday-themed phrases, and discuss ways to stay included in group settings.

Sessions are hosted through The Lingraphica Community - A place for individuals with various communication challenges and their care partners to connect, share, and offer support. The Lingraphica Community consists of multiple, diagnosis-specific online communities. Each individual community has a separate membership base, live online meetup sessions, and engagement opportunities.

Virtual Connections is a free program from The Lingraphica Community & Aphasia Recovery Connection that offers daily Zoom calls for people with aphasia and caregivers. Virtual Connections is not a speech therapy program, but rather virtual conversation and support groups for people with aphasia and caregivers.

Sessions are hosted by speech pathologists, music therapists, rehab professionals, and aphasia experts. Session topics include travel, hobbies, book clubs, food, holidays, music, and more!

Virtual Connections’ mission is to bring people living with aphasia together from all over the world. We are committed to improving quality of life while eliminating isolation by providing social connection, support, and educational experiences.
